The book prepares preteens and teens with the changes that come with puberty. The illustrations and text hope to provide an imaginative space to discuss bodies more openly.
Process
I used scans of my body hair and developed a pattern language referenced from the painting of artist Quamrul Hassan. The pattern intends to provide a subtext instead of being literal. The starting point for this was within the text: "The path to becoming an adult has a fair bit of hair".
